In Oct. KOPA held a business meeting on beautiful Cave Run Lake. We stayed on the houseboats at Scott Creek Marina. We managed to do the business of KOPA while sneaking in some fishing.
As always we had a good time while advancing the goals for the press club. We would like to thank all of our corporate and business partners. Your contributions to our auction make it possible to be one of the lowest cost communication groups in the United States while at the same time providing guidance and networking possibilities for our members.

Chris, personally, my friend, I don’t know how you accomplish as much as you do. The website is up and running and all members can make it more interesting if you take a few moments and reflect on our organization and it’s importance to you and it’s importance to sportsmen and women across the commonwealth. Keep in mind KOPA is one of the longest-running outdoor media groups in America. Old communicators like Sam Piatt, myself and the late Sam Robertson, find it difficult to engage in modern communications that might me more comfortable or more easily received by upcoming generations. But the written word is not dead. There willalways be millions of people who enjoy reading an outdoor column in any size newspaper or magazine. Our traditional subjects like hunting and fishing will need to expand kinto foodnature, nature discovery, outdoor fitness outdoor adventure. For instance, I plan to write a iece about trout fishing in the red River Gorge, but I willk lead the post with the adventures of John Swift ans his lost silver mine to give the piece broader appeal. I’ll push in a bit of history about the early long hunters and visits by the famed Da iel Boone. All of such sides can be woven into the narrative to catch more reader’s eye. More importantly, such prose will catch the editor’s eyes, the first step in actual publication. Off-shoots of our old favorites will win editorial approval somewhere. When was the last time you considered an introduction to outdoor sports for women or childred audences? When was the last time you approached a travel group; about as\dding a out-of-the place , a eatery, a hermit in their travel destiination? Beieve me, it is satisfying to write or photograph these; places. Remember, Jessse, himself was turned down nearly 100 times before his Man With A bull Toungue Plow was accepted.Soc
The only organization that I feel a kinship to in that a common blood flows through the veins of its membership–a true love and appreciation for our gift from the all mighty–his outdoors. May our dedication echo our compassion for the outdoors eternally.
